Elevators & trams for Whitefish homes.
From ski homes on Big Mountain to lake houses on Whitefish Lake, many Whitefish properties are built on a slope. We install home elevators, hillside trams, stairlifts and platform lifts across Whitefish, Columbia Falls and the north valley.

Built on a slope? We can help.
Whitefish homes are beautiful and often vertical: three or four levels down a hillside, the garage at the bottom, the main living space at the top, and a steep path down to the lake. Great for views, hard on knees.
We install elevators that tie those levels together and trams that get you to the water. We'll come to the property, look at what you have, and recommend what fits.

Every area has its own kind of house. Here's what we run into most in and around Whitefish.
Ski homes on Big Mountain
Multi-level homes near Whitefish Mountain Resort mean hauling skis, boots and groceries up several flights. An elevator from the garage changes how the house works.
Whitefish Lake lots
Much of the shoreline sits well above the water. A hillside tram makes the dock usable for every guest, not just the ones who don't mind the climb.
Part-time owners
Many homes here sit empty for part of the year. We can schedule a service visit before you arrive so everything is ready when you get here.
Snow country
Whitefish winters are long and snowy. Plan for covered outdoor equipment and a fall shutdown routine for trams.

Montana rules for home elevators
Montana
Montana's elevator rules leave elevators and lifts that sit entirely inside a single private home out of state conveyance permitting, but the installer must be a state-licensed elevator contractor. Building permits come from the City of Whitefish or Flathead County, and work along Whitefish Lake falls under local lakeshore protection rules, so a tram project usually needs a lakeshore permit.
We'll tell you which permits your project needs and coordinate with your builder or contractor.

Can you add an elevator to a ski home?
Often, yes. Multi-level homes with the garage on the lowest floor are great candidates. A garage corner, stacked closets or an exterior shaft are common solutions.
Can you build a tram on Whitefish Lake?
Trams are designed for steep lake lots like the ones along Whitefish Lake. We'll survey your slope and access and help you through the lakeshore permit process.
We're only here part of the year. Can you service while we're away?
Yes. Many owners schedule maintenance or tram start-up before they arrive for the season. Tell us your schedule and how to access the equipment.
Does Montana require a permit or inspection?
Elevators used only inside a private home are left out of Montana's state conveyance permitting, though the installer must hold the right state licenses. Local building permits still apply, and lakefront work usually needs a lakeshore permit.
Do you serve Columbia Falls and West Glacier?
Yes. We work throughout the north Flathead Valley, including Columbia Falls, Hungry Horse and West Glacier.
