Your neighbors since 1999.
Mobility Concepts started in North Idaho, and Coeur d'Alene is still where we're based. When you call, you're calling a local office. When you need service, the technician is coming from across town, not from another state.
Over the years we've worked in everything from century-old houses near downtown to new homes in Hayden and lake places on the bluffs, so we know what Kootenai County homes tend to throw at us.

Every area has its own kind of house. Here's what we run into most in and around Coeur d'Alene.
Older homes near downtown
Houses in the Garden District, Fort Grounds and Sanders Beach often have steep, narrow stairs and living space in the basement. A stairlift, sometimes with a custom curved rail, usually solves it without remodeling.
Lake and hillside homes
Homes above Lake Coeur d'Alene, Hayden Lake and Fernan Lake are often three levels built into the slope. That's a good fit for a home elevator, and for a hillside tram down to the dock.
New construction
Hayden, Post Falls and Rathdrum have added a lot of new homes. If you're building, we can help your builder frame a shaft now so adding an elevator later is simple.
Snow and ice
Porch steps and entries are hard in January. Vertical platform lifts and outdoor stairlifts come with weather protection built for our winters.

Idaho rules for home elevators
Idaho
Idaho's Elevator Safety Code Act exempts elevators and lifts in private residences from state elevator permits and inspections (Idaho Code §39-8606). Building permits for the construction side come from the City of Coeur d'Alene or Kootenai County. Lifts in churches and businesses are different: they're permitted and inspected by the state elevator program, which has an office in Coeur d'Alene.
We'll tell you which permits your project needs and coordinate with your builder or contractor.

Do you come out to Post Falls, Hayden and Rathdrum?
Yes. All of Kootenai County is part of our everyday service area, along with Bonner and Shoshone counties.
Can I visit your office?
Yes. We're at 233 W Dalton Ave, Suite B, in Coeur d'Alene, open Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Call ahead so the right person is there to meet you.
Does Idaho inspect home elevators?
No. Elevators in private residences are exempt from Idaho's state elevator program, so regular maintenance is up to the homeowner. We recommend a service visit at least once a year.

Very likely. Trams are made for steep lakefront lots. We'll survey your slope and access, then design and quote a system for your hill.
